About Tech & Data
The Tech & Data department serves as the development hub for IBFD and is also responsible for service management, cloud services, and infrastructure. The department comprises approximately 25 full-time employees and external developers operating in near-shore and offshore arrangements.
The development teams develop and maintain IBFD’s Tax Research Platform, a proprietary portal for cross-border taxation expertise, as well as several document processing systems and publication workflows. The team is also maintaining and developing the website, web shop, and online learning modules. Development activities follow Agile methodologies and apply a service-oriented architecture. IBFD promotes a culture of DevOps and applications are being migrated to a Kubernetes cluster. The development team works in close collaboration with the Infrastructure & Service Management team, that is responsible for IBFD’s infrastructure and cloud services.
The Reporting & Analytics team plays an important role in IBFD’s journey towards a data-driven organisation. The mission is to provide the organisation with valuable actionable insights with data-driven decision making. The vision is to empower the organisation by delivering actionable data insights and establishing clear, scalable standards for data management using state-of-the-art cloud technologies. The team consists of a Tech Lead, a Data Engineer, and Analytics Engineers.
What will you do? Tasks & Responsibilities
Data Exploration & Analysis:
Work directly with data in the warehouse, using SQL and PySpark to extract, join, and manipulate large datasets from multiple sources.
Analyse data to identify trends, insights, and performance metrics that support business objectives.
Validate data quality at source, investigate anomalies, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of reporting outputs.
Collaborate with data engineers and other stakeholders to understand data structures, resolve data issues, and optimise data flows for reporting and analytics.
Develop methodologies for extracting, transforming, and interpreting data, ensuring that business users receive timely and actionable insights.
Reporting & Dashboarding:
Design, build, and maintain robust Power BI dashboards and reports for recurring and ad-hoc business needs. Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Data Engineers, Tech Leads, and other Reporting & Analytics team members to deliver robust solutions. Contribute to self-service enablement by documenting definitions, filters, and navigation tips.
End-User Support:
Provide hands-on support to business users in creating, modifying, and interpreting reports and dashboards. Act as a first point of contact for questions about data access, report functionality, and best practices, empowering colleagues to make effective use of available analytics tools and data resources.Stakeholder Engagement:
Gather requirements from business users, clarify definitions, and provide guidance in interpreting results. Present findings to non-technical audiences and capture feedback for continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
Proactively suggest enhancements to reporting processes, tools, and data sources. Stay current with best practices in analytics, data engineering, and data visualisation.
What will you bring?
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, computer science, engineering). Experience in business reporting, preferably in publishing or a similar environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in SQL for querying and manipulating data in relational databases and data warehouses.
Experience with PySpark or similar frameworks for large-scale data processing and analysis.
Advanced Power BI skills (data modelling, DAX, performance optimisation).
Experience with website and digital analytics—such as tracking user behaviour, analysing web traffic, or working with platforms like Google Analytics or similar tools.
Experience in Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
Analytical Mindset:
Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with large and complex datasets. Ability to join disparate sources and turn analysis into decision-ready insights.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to “tell the story” behind the data for non-technical stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a full-time position (37 hours per week) with a salary, depending on background and relevant work experience, between EUR 3,664 and EUR 5,143 gross per month on a full-time basis.
