Publishing Administrative Assistant

Within the News and Treaties Department we are looking for a Publishing Administrative Assistant.
The News and Treaties Department is responsible for the contents of the international Tax Treaties Collection. As a member of the N&T department you will be involved in the day-to-day activities of processing electronic documents and updating treaty information for a number of online publications, including writing short news items for the daily Tax News Service. During the introduction period, an extensive training on the job is provided.
Main responsibilities
- Review and analyze incoming tax news on bilateral and multilateral agreements, as well as updates related to these agreements, from IBFD researchers and correspondents
- Write news items on statuses related to treaty lifecycle according to a standard structure for the daily Tax News Service (TNS)
- Review, update, process and style content for the News, Treaties and Tables Collections on IBFD's Tax Research Platform, ensuring compliance with quality and editorial standards
- Analyze, style, format and integrate tax treaties in all official languages, including incorporating amending provisions into the original documents
- Verify treaty information, ensuring accuracy and consistency of treaties while maintaining alignment with official sources
- Manage and update internal administrative databases and documents, following procedural guidelines for data quality and governance
- Ensure accurate data collection, storage, organization and categorization, maintaining security, accessibility and compliance standards
- Monitor and execute automated updates to keep treaty information current (no prior technical knowledge required)
- Assist the team in ongoing and new projects and products, contributing to workflow improvements and content enhancements
Requirements
- Bachelor-level
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
- Experienced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Experience with publishing systems, project management tools (e.g. Trello, Jira) or XML formatting is an advantage

NB: Since no specific knowledge in the area of tax treaties is required in this position, we will not be able to consider applications of tax specialists.
Salary & fringe benefits
We offer you a fulltime position (37 hrs) with a gross monthly salary between € 2,850 and € 3,050, depending on background and relevant work experience. Furthermore, we offer you a comprehensive package of (flexible) fringe benefits which includes amongst others:
