Senior Software Engineer
The IT department supports the strategy and objectives of the organization by providing IT systems and infrastructure for IBFD’s cross-border taxation-based publications and software products to customers all over the world. The department develops and maintains publication workflows, document processing systems and IBFD’s Tax Research Platform, a proprietary portal for cross-border taxation expertise. Additionally, it supports the internal office infrastructure and workflows and supports staff in their day-today activities. The IT team currently consists of approximately 30 FTE.
In 2023 IBFD made the switch from Oracle eBS to Microsoft Dynamics 365. With D365 CE (Customer Engagement) and D365 Finance/F&O, the Finance, Customer Service, Marketing and Sales departments have the platform to support their day-to-day operations. IBFD intends to further utilize and develop functionality based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 to continue our digital transformation. Therefore, we have a challenging position for a
Senior Software Engineer
to technically lead the developers, guide, coach and instruct the outsourcing partner, and actively contribute to the software development. Backend services, middleware and integrations between our Tax Research Platform, LMS, and Dynamics 365 are the main areas of responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering and programming, with a natural interest in programming paradigms, programming languages and code quality.
Tasks & responsibilities
You will act as the senior developer for IBFD’s online platforms, in particular the Tax Research Platform. You will oversee and contribute to the backend services, API’s and middleware. Code reviews are an important aspect of this position.The main frameworks and programming languages in use now are Java, Golang, and Angular.
In addition to the above:
- Coaching of other developers
- Write technical specifications for the external development team in Bangladesh
- Advocate and propagate clean code and code quality
Technical knowledge and skills
- Good understanding of and experience with programming paradigms: functional, procedural, object oriented
- Good (theoretical) understanding of software engineering
- Experience with Golang and Java is a benefit
- At least 10 years' programming experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent
- At least five years' experience in a technical project management, or technical lead role
- Experience with DevOps, Azure, Docker and Kubernetes is a big benefit. Affinity with Elasticsearch and NLP as well.
- Experience with an Agile way of working.

Salary & Fringe Benefits
We offer you a fulltime (37 hrs) gross monthly salary between €5,200 and €5,800 depending on background and relevant work experience, completed by an attractive package of fringe benefits:
